  • Led productization effort for melt laser semiconductor processing chamber, including vendor development, optics and laser product improvements, process development and customer management. Developed experimental prototype for laser-assisted vapor-phase deposition processing. Collaborated across product groups to identify applications and experimental protocols for laser-assisted deposition technology.  Worked to identify and test integrated, across-product applications for new and advanced semiconductor processes–targeting next node requirements for leading logic and memory customers. Led a team to develop and release the 2nd generation high-powered scanning-laser semiconductor processing chamber. Member of Intellectual Property (IP) team, tasked with evaluating suitability for patentability for all inventions from FEP.

  • Technical lead for laser-melt semiconductor processing equipment. Oversaw development of all optics and laser technologies.  Led team to integrate inspection platform technology from a sister division in Israel.  Developed relationships with customer partners to evaluate the early learning systems in advanced logic and memory product factories both in the US and Asia. Technical lead for 450mm development semiconductor processing tools in the Front End Products (FEP) Division (encompassing Epitaxial Deposition, Rapid Thermal Processing, and Oxide Deposition product groups).  Expanded core technology group to support all products within FEP, expanded IP support to all products within FEP.

  • Technical lead for 4th generation Rapid Thermal Processing reactor.  Managed all fundamental technological development and guided mechanical engineering design and simulation.  Expanded thermal processing core technology team to include high-powered laser processing and optics.  Created optics and laser lab in Hillsboro, Oregon, specifically to support laser-based semiconductor annealing technologies. Managed development of novel high-powered diode-based laser line annealing source and integrated temperature measurement. Member of IP committee, tasked with evaluating all inventions in the rapid thermal processing (RTP) area suitable for patentability.

  • Led technical staff in the development of core technologies for Rapid Thermal Processing, including temperature measurement technology, in-situ calibration instrumentation, prototype manufacturing and calibration lab, and halogen lamp development and lab. Member of RTP product development team for 3rd generation RTP reactor.

  • Member of small technical team in a mini-environment tasked with developing in-house technology for temperature measurement.  Resulting instrument became the core technology for the 3rd generation RTP reactor.  Implemented new temperature measurement instrumentation for 2nd generation RTP reactor.
